My 2009 rzr800 randomly started idling pretty rough, I mean there were no signs of this its prior start up. I ignored it, because it was still staying within normal rpm range according to the manual. When I went to drive it, it would not even go. It was acting like it was starving for fuel, just sputtering and missing, to the point I thought it was gonna stall but never did. At low rpms, it seems to drive okay.
Even more random I got it home, unloaded it and it was fine. A day later acting up again, but about 2 hours later I started it to run diagnostics and it was fine, and ran great as well. I can smell fuel, and sometimes it smells hot as well, but all indications aside from a 25 (invalid gear) blink code suggest nothing else. Regarding that, the "P" doesnt always show up when I put it in Park. All other symbols show up fine. If I rock the Machine the "P" will appear usually. Does by chance this put it in a limp mode maybe if it is shut off while the "P" is not visible? Or maybe it is related in another way? My next step was to check fuel pressure but I do not have a gauge so that isnt happening at the moment.
Does anyone have any suggestions or tips before I really dive into this to find the problem. I put good fuel in it, I am wondering if the old fuel that was in it went bad and is still causing some residual effects?
